BIOLAN has been recognized in Bilbao in an edition that has promoted the creation of HumaniSare, the new platform for humanistic enterprise
This award comes within a context of strengthening the values of participation and social commitment
On April 27, Bilbao hosted the Arizmendiarrieta Sariak Bizkaia 2026 Awards ceremony, which recognizes organizations that combine business competitiveness with human development, following the MIPE model (Inclusive Participatory Business Model).
These awards highlight organizations that implement a humanistic business model, integrating competitiveness, participation, and personal development, and emphasizing management based on ethical principles, social commitment, and collaborative work as key factors for sustainable business success.
The prizes are organized by the Arizmendiarrieta Christian Foundation and the Association of Executives and Professionals of Euskadi (Adype). The ceremony brought together representatives from the business, institutional, and social spheres at the CRAI Library of the University of Deusto, in an event opened by the Rector, Juan José Etxeberria, and the Acting Mayor of Bilbao, Amaia Arregi, and closed by the Provincial Councillor for Economic Promotion, Ainara Basurko.
BIOLAN was recognized in the SME category, and the award was received by its founder and CEO, Asier Albizu, from the Acting Mayor of Bilbao, Amaia Arregi. The jury highlighted its internal participatory culture, aligned with a people-centered management model; its commitment to collaborative innovation, fostering cooperation both within and outside the company; and its promotion of scientific talent through funding for doctoral studies and support for inclusive STEM programs.
This recognition reinforces BIOLAN’s commitment to a business model based on innovation, people, and positive social impact. BIOLAN represents the type of SME that the Arizmendiarrieta Sariak awards aim to showcase: innovative, participatory, and committed to human development.
