On July 19, the 35th Infofish Board Meeting 2022 was held in Bangkok, where our colleague Kanokwan Minthananan had the opportunity to represent BIOLAN.

INFOFISH was founded in 1981 as part of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) and United Nations project to promote the development of the fishing industry in Southeast Asia. Since 1987, this intergovernmental organization has provided technical advisory services to the fishing industry in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond from its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It currently comprises twelve member countries belonging to the INFOFISH association: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The organization is the main source of marketing support for fish producers and exporters in Asia-Pacific, a region with some of the world’s largest fisheries. Its main activities include bringing buyers and sellers together, publishing trade information and supporting technical and expert advisory services. In addition to organizing exhibitions, conferences, workshops, seminars and training programs, INFOFISH carries out consultancies on all aspects of fishing: before, during and after harvest.

This year BIOLAN, as an active member of the organization, participated in the Infofish Board Meeting 2022 event held in Bangkok, and had the opportunity to share its experience based on the improvement and optimization of analytical data through digitalisation, a strategy supported and driven by the BLUE TRANSFORMATION strategic line, with the objective of being developed towards 2030.

We thank the entire INFOFISH team for the incredible work done and for counting on BIOLAN and giving us the opportunity to echo the great results obtained thanks to the implementation of technology and digitalisation of our cloud-connected equipment BIO 3000 and BIO 7000 and our own digital platform BIOLANglobal for food quality monitoring and analysis management.
