Recently BIOLAN´s technology dissemination has been facilitated in Ecuador by the interest and recognition of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG).

First, on August 7, BIOLAN gave a talk on biosensor technology applied to food and agriculture industry at the USCG, which was very well received. Carlota López and Carlos González from the BIOLAN delegation in Ecuador showed the biosensors developed by BIOLAN and they made demonstrations of the determination of histamine and sulphite in fish and shrimp respectively, using this innovative technology.

In addition, BIOLAN was invited to participate in the show \”Agriculture and Development Analysis Table\” on the UCSG radio and television, on August 8 and 14, respectively. Carlota López, head of the Delegation, presented BIOLAN’s biosensor technology knowledge, its advantages and the achieved recognition, the competitive applications for the agro-food sector, as well as the technological challenges for the future.
