BIOLAN renews the Performance Tested Method PTM AOAC 051604 certificate for the quantification of histamine concentration for both the BIOFISH 3000 HIS biosensor and its previous model, BIOFISH 300 HIS.

BIOLAN reissues the certificate it has held since 2016, when it joined the select club of the American association, with the BIO 300 biosensor, an analytical method adopted by more than 500 fishing and processing companies around the world.

Histamine is a key parameter in determining the freshness and quality of fish. This amine can cause food poisoning caused by the consumption of certain types of fish such as tuna, anchovy, sardine, mackerel or horse mackerel. EU legislation obliges processors to monitor histamine levels to ensure that products reaching the market are safe.

BIOLAN, aware of the importance of being able to offer customers analytical methodologies that have the protection and recognition of international bodies, allocates a very important part of its research and technological effort to expand the range of products backed by the AOAC, an international reference body in analytics and laboratory. This is possible thanks to the perseverance and hard work of the powerful team of professionals in the Product Development and Certifications area led by Sandra Salleres and Jone Garate.

During the testing process leading to certification, the BIOFISH 3000 HIS equipment performed very positively, with optimal recoveries, maximum precision and accuracy, all of which are necessary characteristics to obtain the certificate.

This last recognition is of vital importance for BIOLAN, which sees how the technological advances of its products (3000 and 7000 series) continue to maintain a high level of quality and usefulness, but also for its customers, giving them confidence and security in the products. Once again, BIOLAN contrasts the reliability of its world-renowned technology.
